Just five years and an impressive performance record: Puneet Chhatwal rehabilitated the Steigenberger Group, shaped the globally expanding Deutsche Hospitality and, since a leaving CEO, leaves the record-breaking results each month. At the end of the year, his contract in Frankfurt / Main substituted the magnetic top hotelier with the seat of the most prestigious Taj Hotels (Indian Hotels Company / IHCL, a Tata Group company) at Mumbai. After 30 years of successful resort professions in Europe, Mr. Chhatwal returns to the vicinity of his Indian family. His footsteps fill, a huge challenge for a successor.
Puneet Chhatwal always understood the Deutsche Hospitality leadership with wonderful sensitivity and a great awareness of the fingertip about the many international challenges – too linguistic; he also discusses a number of other foreign languages besides English and German. The revolutionary concept is considered a “play meadow” and a test place for the essential concept adaptations in the Steigenberger (Grand) Hotels. The growth with now 27 hotel projects, particularly in the Near and Middle East – Mr. Chhatwal created a coup in Iran alone – and in East Asia the management team in Frankfurt / Main is ahead: New horizons in the brand new, powerful East with strong roots in European nations tradition. The new umbrella brand, Deutsche Hospitality, should always express this; presumably, even among critics, that this will soon be considered a wise decision with foresight.
With the Taj Hotels Palaces Resorts Safaris, the IHCL’s official market title expects new challenges to get a billion-dollar target group.
